Setting Up your IG Creator Account to Complete IG & IG Story Challenges on SL
Here you'll find a video with steps to set up your Instagram Creator account and link your Creator account to SocialLadder. Otherwise, follow the steps listed out below the video!
Step 1: Connect your Facebook account to your Instagram account
- Open your Instagram app and click on your profile icon. Open your account settings by clicking on the menu at the top right hand corner of your profile and choosing “Settings.” Inside of “Settings” click on “Account”
- From your account details, click on “Linked Accounts” then click on “Facebook.” You’ll be prompted to either log in to your Facebook account from your browser or through the Facebook app. Follow the steps to connect your two accounts.
Step 2: Set up a Creator account on Instagram
- Open your Instagram app and click on your profile icon. Open your account settings by clicking on the menu at the top right hand corner of your profile and choosing “Settings.” Inside of “Settings” click on “Account”
- Scroll down to the bottom of your “Account” menu and click on “Switch to Professional Account.” Select the “Creator” or “Business” option to move forward.
- Go through the steps to set up your Creator account by answering the prompts from Instagram. Note: To make your account a Creator account, you must make your Instagram account public. If the Creator option is not available for you, select the Business option.
- Now that your Creator account is set up, next it’s time to link this with your Facebook profile and page. Click on “Edit Profile.” From your profile settings page, scroll down to your Profile Information and click on “Connect or Create” next to “Page.” From here you’ll be prompted to Connect to a Facebook page by either selecting an existing page you have or creating a new one.
- Click on “Connect Existing Page.” This will pull up any pages you have on Facebook. If you don’t have an existing page, you can then click on “Create a New Facebook Page” from this screen to create a new page.
Note: If you can’t convert your Instagram account into a Creator/Business account or create and/or link your Facebook Page through Instagram you can do so on Facebook by following the steps below
- Open your Facebook app and click into the settings tab. Select the “Pages” menu item and click on “Create”. Follow the steps to create your Facebook Page.
- Once your Page is created, click into the Page and access the settings from the top right hand corner, select “Edit Page” and click on “Settings.” Click on Instagram to connect your Page to your Instagram account.
- Click on “Connect Account” and you will be prompted to log in to your Instagram account. Follow the steps to “Convert to Business Profile.” Once these steps are completed, you will be brought back to Instagram
Step 3: Connect your Facebook & Instagram accounts to SocialLadder
- Log into your SocialLadder account by connecting your Instagram account in addition to your Facebook profile (and Twitter if you have one)
- Click into an Instagram Story or Instagram Post challenge. Click on the submit button at the bottom right hand corner of the challenge screen. You’ll be prompted to verify your Instagram account through Facebook.
- Once in the Facebook app, make sure you continue by linking the account you want connected to SocialLadder. Select your Instagram account that you set up as a Creator account to link to SocialLadder. Then select the Facebook Page that you previously linked to your Instagram Creator account. For the Instagram account & Facebook Page to successfully connect to SocialLadder, ensure that all permissions on the following page are toggled on before clicking done. Click OK on the following page to finish linking SocialLadder to Facebook & Instagram.
